Introducing Mojito Mondays--sip, sip, hooray!

Updated: Jan 4, 2022

Communications can be challenging.

Even more so on a Monday.

My favourite drink is a mojito. I've had some really difficult comms projects and, if it were up to me, I'd have an afternoon break and pour myself an adult beverage to get the creative juices flowing.

But that would be frowned upon.

Regardless, let's focus on something fun on Mondays, because sometimes, if we are all honest, 5 p.m. can't come soon enough.

So, every Monday, I'll highlight something fun--a recipe, a photo, a link--that will make the start of the work week a little easier.

Today, in honour of the name of this post, here's a mojito recipe (from https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/mojito-242527).

  • 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) fresh lime juice

  • 2 heaping teaspoons superfine sugar

  • 1 cup crushed ice

  • 12 fresh mint leaves, plus 5 small sprigs for garnish

  • 1/4 cup (2 ounces) white rum

  • 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) club soda

Preparation

In 10-ounce glass (such as Collins or highball), stir together lime juice and sugar until sugar dissolves. Add 1/4 cup crushed ice. Rub mint leaves over rim of glass, then tear leaves in half and add to glass. Gently stir for 15 seconds, then add rum, remaining crushed ice, and club soda. Gently stir for 5 seconds, then tuck mint sprigs into top of glass and insert tall straw. Enjoy! All I can tell you is to wait until you get home tonight before you indulge.
